So, there’s this new fad sweeping through the crochet world. You didn’t know there is a crochet world, did you? Well, there is and it has fads. It comes from Japan and is called Amigurumi. Basically, it’s the art of crocheting extremely tiny and extremely CUTE crochet critters. Mostly, it’s things like octopi, mommy and baby hedgehogs, dancing elephants, or little owls and baby chicks and whatnot.
OK, they are cute.
But leave it to me to find the one book out there for those of us with a dark side. I did mention I am a Scorpio, didn't I?

Yes, this book contains some truly ghoulish little patterns, like the devil himself:
Nosferatu
A ninja
A skeletal bride and groom (Now, why didn’t I have this book when a certain goth couple I know got married? I had to settle for making a black baby blanket. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find black yarn in the spring?)
I think this one is my favorite: the Grim Reaper! Look at his little, tiny scythe! Awww...
Oh, I cannot wait to start churning out creepy critters by the thousands. OK, maybe not thousands. Dozens. Groups of three?
Never mind. There’s plenty of time to figure it out. Halloween is five months away. But why wait til then? Now, where’s that black yarn????

I would like to put in a request for my very own Grim Reaper. He's to Die For!
ReplyDeleteI'll put it in the queue behind the black hat and baby caterpillar. ( At least I'll have yarn!)
ReplyDeleteI want Nosferatau....That is cool! Much better than some macrame crochet plant hanger. Oh, whoops, was that my gift this year?
