First, prep your coffin-shaped pan. Then, you must find a box of the hardest-to-get cake mix in the world: Duncan Hines Moist Deluxe Red Velvet Cake mix. I looked everywhere for this thing and finally had to resort to the internet. (Good old Ebay.) Once you get past this stage, it’s smooth sailing.
Once mixed, the batter looks remarkably like blood. Pour the bloody batter into the coffin - er, pan - and put it in the oven. Be sure to test it to make sure it's done.
Disinter the cake from your oven, and set it out to cool.
For the final touch - black frosting - for that complete graveyard look.
And there you have it: the perfect Halloween food. It was a huge hit and completely consumed. I love Halloween.
