Junkstock & Experiments With Fire

Today I attended the First Annual Junkstock Festival in Golden Gate Park. No pictures, of course. I really must get into the habit of carrying my camera. It was put together by a group of grass-roots folk musicians, teachers and crafters with the goal of putting music in the hands of people who thought they had no musical ability. There were performances and workshops. You could make a kazoo, learn to play the spoons or jug, or build a mandolin out of a cigar box. There was a good turnout for the first year, and I think that with word-of-mouth publicity, it will grow and become an annual event.

Since I don’t have any pictures of Junkstock, I present some experimental photos I took of an alabaster candle on my new sideboard.
