Lights! Camera! Action!

I now have the ability to make movies. Okay, videos...but I can string them together to make movies. At least, that's what the instruction manual says. Yesterday, I received my Flip camcorder. It is small, it is mighty and I love it. It's what I like to call stalker-sized. [Oh, did I say that out loud? Damn.] It's perfect for capturing all those special little moments that life is full of. Like impromptu karaoke sessions in the office, interactions between BART police and unruly passengers on the late-night train, or what your neighbors are doing while they're "watching TV".

Yesterday, San Francisco was hit by what promises to be the first of a series of powerful winter storms. I decided to test the Flip by recording the progress of the storm across the Bay through the window of my boss's office. When the cat's away...




Over the next hour or so, conditions changed. I was extremely bummed that I did not get any of the lightning over the bay.





Unfortunately, I actually had to do some work, which meant I also missed the really heavy rain. Half an hour after this, there was:
