When Your Birthday Comes Early

I recently had a visit from my good friend Earin.  It is always wonderful when she comes to visit, but even more so when she brings PREZZIES!  She brought me some early birthday gifts!  Hooray!

This is the ultimate score:  a Day of the Dead Apron!  It comes to me courtesy of Suzy the Enabler, who sewed the whole thing.  It was hard to get a good picture, it looks much better in person.  I plan to wear it while I make my Pan de los Muertos (Bread of the Dead) and other various ghoulish graveyard treats.

Don't forget the matching potholder.

In keeping with the DoD theme, there was also this way cool skull bead.  It even came in a neat little pouch.

Then there was some incredibly soft, silky cotton thread from Singapore.  (OK, I knew this was coming.  Earin had said I could have it.)  Now, to think of something to do with it.   My last prezzie has not been photographed yet.  It's actually  in the wash.  It was the vintage hankie that Earin carried on her wedding day.  I cannot believe she parted with it.  As soon as I realized the significance of the hankie, I vowed to treat it with all the reverence it deserves.  Then I blew my nose in it.

I love prezzies.
