The babies' eyes are starting to open. This means independence is just around the corner - and I will soon have to find something else to write about. Another one has decided to strike out on his own (as far as mom will let him). Here we see him near the wheel, trying to blend in.
It didn't work. He was quickly snatched up and deposited back in the nest. But, as you see, it didn't stop him for long.
SAFE! Mom is getting very tired. They are sucking her dry - literally. The empty nest can't come too soon.
is that proper television viewing for infant hamsters?
